Help with the MeshHome app for iPhone and iPad, and the MeshHome server.
Getting started
- Install the MeshHome server on a Raspberry Pi, a Debian computer or Kubernetes: see the installation guides.
- Open it in a browser and finish the first-run setup: your account and your radio.
- In the app, enter your server's address, pick it from On your network, or scan the pairing QR code (web interface → Account → Signed-in devices → Add a phone). Sign in with the same username and password.
Common questions
The app can't reach my server. Make sure your phone is on the same network as the server, or connected through your VPN. If iOS asked about local network access, allow it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → MeshHome.
It warns about my server's certificate. A self-signed certificate is fine: compare the fingerprint the app shows with the one on your server, then trust it.
Push notifications don't arrive. The server's owner must allow them (Settings → Push notifications), and the phone must turn them on (app → Settings → Notifications). Send a test notification there shows the last error, if any. Check that notifications for MeshHome are allowed in the iPhone's Settings app.
Does MeshHome need the internet? No. Everything works on your home network; only optional push notifications, the map and update checks use the internet.
